A woman in red and gold spandex was at the bar, a security badge pinned beneath the X on her chest. She probably hasn't been fiddling long with the sand when another woman shows up a few stools away.

[Fear. Gut-wrenching fear and outright sorrow.]

Frowning, she knocks her knuckles lightly on the bar top, the motion bringing with it the appearance of a bottle of beer.

[Sitting in the dark, watching with growing dread as the machine in front of her prints out her death sentence. More fear and confusion as she watches her mother shout at her, a shaking hand rising to-]

Thirteen shakes her head, and the bottle is scooped up, and she takes a long swig.

Rachel tilted her head, bird-like, as she eyed the woman down the counter. The sand trickling away took on bloody tints and the soft patter of bitter rain as it nestled into its bowl. "A bit early for beer." She noted, voice warm and low,m like fur that crept across the counter before pooling and pouring warmly into the girl's lap.

Remy's head snaps towards the new voice and a brow arches cooly at the question.

"I don't see why I shouldn't," she murmurs, the cadence of the other woman's voice causing Remy to give herself another mental shake and just look at Rachel.

Rachel may be amused to pick up that there is a brief weighing of whether or not she should break out the charm or not.

Well, that internal debate drew a smile as warm as the voice, if small. Oddly enough most people had that thought when they met Rachel, no matter which way they preferred their partners. "It's just a bad habit I'm told."

"Do you honestly want it or just the relaxation that comes with it?" There was no censure in her voice, just open and honest curiosity. Why not after all?
