One thing that's bothering me about the curriculum for 10th grade I teach (Prentice Hall Math A) is the fact that students learn to factor trinomial expressions before they are introduced to equations that require factoring for a solution ( Read more... )

I'd be scared to ask my students those kinds of questions. Imagine: "What is philosophy good for?" I think they'd easily prove to me that I'm in a completely worthless field. And my students are only three years older than yours.
