236: Respect, huh?

Respect, for any of you that actually care, is something that you have to earn. The only people who don't think they have to earn it are people who coast on their connections, their past accomplishments (whatever those might be), or who their daddy is.

There aren't many people I respect. Mostly because I don't find those people worthy of respect.

It's more difficult to earn respect if you come from a privileged background though, right?

Yeah, which is why I mentioned "proving that you're worth a damn beyond your name or your connections or your money." It's entirely possible, but too many people I've known have been content to coast on those things instead of actually working for respect. Hence, me being rather sour on the subject of respect.
