Things never work out in their ideal way. If they did, we wouldn't have wars in the first place.

How do you know which opinion is wrong? No one thinks their own opinion is wrong, so how do you make them see that? That's entirely retorical, by the way. But I mean, what's the point of negotiating when people don't believe they're wrong? Most of the time opinions don't change. That's why there's fighting. Force them to change their opinion, or they die. I guess technically that's keeping the peace, in a weird way.

Don't get hurt with your aggressive negotiations, okay? Or else I'll come out there and smack you.

Yeah. It's not easy. I guess the most obvious instances where you know someone's wrong is when they're threatening another species in some way. Maybe not threatening their lives, but their well-being... their right to freedom... I grew up as a slave, though, you see... so those types of issues get me worked up. Someday I'm going to abolish slavery across the entire galaxy. Or, you know...make everyone MY minions!

True.

I didn't know you were a slave. I'm sorry. I guess issues like that would upset you. I'm glad you let it inspire you to do something good, at any rate.

You're quite a remarkable person.

*blush!* I'm just... I dunno. Me. *chuckles and changes subject* Oh, and no need to come out here and smack me -- I disposed of those droids in about two seconds. *grins*

We'd all be very bored if you were all negotiators. Anyway, if they wanted you to be peaceful, why do they give you swords that can cut through almost anything?

I have to admit I was somewhat gleeful when I saw this 'topic.' It's something I feel I'm rather good at; in my profession, I have to be. However, one could go the way my father used to, which was what he referred to as the 'hack and slash' method of negotiation. I can also tell you he and his lieutenant, Bedwyr, came to blows several times during discussions of Uther's methods ( ... )

A thankless task. Yes. Our deeds with our swords get alot more acclaim!

And to you, Arthur. I must go see what you have to say on this subject...
