Leto studied the cactus. He had watered it once, but now the flower started to wilt and he wondered whether that was just the natural process of life and death or whether he had caused it through lack of proper knowledge. It was a desert plant, yes, but many deserts here were not quite as dry as Arrakis.

He turned around when he heard the knock, then smiled a little when he saw who it was.

"Fiona, come in." he held out a hand towards her. "How did your weekend go?"

Oh, he could stuff his hand. She went in for a hug.

"Good. Mostly."

She looked over at him.

"How're you?"

She got a proper hug in return, and when he let her go, he said: "Mostly?" with half a grin. Then, her her question he turned a little more serious. "Contemplating where I truly should be."
