I thought this episode was one of the better ones in recent memory. Seeing Leela obsess over the deliver was funny, but also in-character, much better than the way she acted in "Yo Leela Leela," imho. Zoidberg's connection to the old crew was also a nice touch. This episode made me really excited to see what the writers do with his backstory.
The Who reference was also pretty funny. Two episodes with Four in a row? Awesome.
Easily this episode was one of the better episodes for plot, visual effects, and humor. However, I kept getting the impression that the writers used this template: "Start of joke. Cultural reference." "Word. Science reference." "I disagree! Literary reference!" *visual gag*
Don't get me wrong. I liked the episode, but there were a few obscure references that took a good minute to process. I wasn't expecting Fonzie Zoidberg either. Was anyone else?
