Pops and I weren't able to head out to my brother's Lavender Farm today because I'm still sick, and it would've been a worthless 4+ hour round trip to go. So instead, we visited mom and took her some flowers, then went to lunch and a movie

Oh thank you. She passed in 2002, but Mother's Day is always a little more difficult than other days. :)

We saw the Star Trek movie too!! It was so amazing - better than I was expecting, actually! So often movies are so hyped and you KNOW they can't live up to the expectation, but this one so does! I laughed out loud so often - although I started the movie crying!!! (And hoping no one else noticed, although I'm sure I wasn't the only one.) Really awesome movie.

I wanted to see the movie before I heard too much about it.. I'd glanced at a few headlines and the reviews seemed favorable, but I didn't know too much and that was definitely the best for me. I went in with almost no expectations. Whew! I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it, especially since I almost never watched any of the ST shows growing up.

sorry you're feeling not well. Star Trek was awesome, it was funny too. There was one part I was hysterically laughing at but don't want it to be spoilery cause it's something everyone's been not spoiling well.

It was SO much funnier than I had anticipated! Some of it was silly, which seemed to be in the same over the top humor vein of the original series. I loved that.

And yeah, I hadn't read much at all about the movie, people seem to be respecting the spoilers for this, amazing.
