Blessing?

~.: Mom called me this morning and told me that FLACRA was wondering when I was coming to work there. I'd work full time and make almost $20,000 a year, plus benefits (I think- I'd have to double check). A job is just waiting to fall into my lap and I don't know if I should accept it, or keep looking for something closer. :/ Advice! I needs it!

job search, confused, hmm, what to do

Considering the job market, I'd say take it. Opportunity isn't like the postman: it doesn't ring twice. You can build your resume up for careers later on with this position, right?

-nodnod- Yeah, I'm seriously considering it.

Definitely take it. A fairly well-paying job with benefits that's being offered to you isn't an opportunity to pass up, especially in this job market and since you're fresh out of college. (I'm going to hate you though (not really), since I've been trying for 6 months to get a job...)

Take it. Nothing says you can't keep looking for something else, but this way you'll have money coming in and you can gain experience in your field at the same time.

Yeah, I'm thinking I might do it. I'll keep looking here for a few months while working at he dollar store, just to see if nothing better comes along. But they're pretty much ready to have me start working yesterday. ^^;

I'd say take it now though. You'd be making more money there than at Dollar store.

Though would that mean you'd be going up to NY?

Yes. o.o That's where the job is. That's why I'm hesitant.

I think I know why you want to think on accepting the offer more, but I also think you should seriously consider accepting this job. A well paying job with benefits is too good to pass up - especially with the job market the way it is. As you do want to think on it, see if they'll give you time to consider it, seeing as how you'd have to relocate and find a place to live up there etc etc.

Well, I'd live with my mom, but that thought in itself .... is just kind of scary. I love my mom and siblings to death, but I'm so different from the people in her house that I could sanely only stand to live there for a month before needing to get out. There are so many things I need to save for, but also so many things I need to start paying back. ~o~ It's better if I don't have to go anywhere, but I'm not sure what other choices I have. :/

Hmmm...well...based on the comments above, if the job in VA doesn't pan out, you really should take the one in NY. You can't save if you don't have an income, and bill collectors don't care if you don't have the money at the time - they want their money when they want it, and they will get it, one way or another.
