Everybody loves money :D

~.: So I just applied for a student credit card with a limit of $3000. I'm kinda nervous. I really don't wanna get myself into trouble with it, but I really need to establish my credit, and a credit card will be nice to have in case of emergencies. I decided my tactic will be this: to pretend it is my check card when I use it, and only spend as ( Read more... )

Your debit card will work fine (mine did when I was there) but you have to be careful with that because you have to convert the money when you write it down in your transaction log. :x I'll probably buy a candy bar or something once I have my credit card. Just to get my credit started, you know?

Haha, yeah.
Well, I don't have to write anything down usually. I have an online record of transactions, so I'm assuming it would automatically convert it. O_o But I suppose I should memorize the conversion so i'll know how much I'm actually spending. ...

Oh yeah, online banking is good. I never trust mine because I don't like waiting for my pending transactions to come through to see how much I have- it usually shows me having more than I do and I get over-confident, which is how I get hit with overdraft fees. So for me, I have to write everything down, but if you can just go by what your online transactions say, that's good. And yeah, it will automatically convert it online.

Yeah, Credit Cards can be dangerous. Be careful with that.
I may need to get one too though, cause I'm not sure if my debit card will work overseas... though I suppose I could ask someone in the Card Operations department when I go to work tomorrow, XD. Lol, sometimes it's nice to work for your own bank.

You're responsible, I'm sure you'll do fine. ^-^ Congrats! My 'rents won't let me get one until my senior year. ^-^;

I don't see why they would be able to stop you. You're 18 (aren't you?) and that's really the only thing necessary. Just open one up yourself.
