I thought I wouldn't have seen anything on your list since I seriously haven't watch any anime in agesssssssss now. But I guess I've seen a couple of things on there.

Is there anime in particular that you would really recommend? I'm seriously behind in anime. lol

Hmm, that I've seen recently? Probably the following:

Angel Beats! <-- good mix of funny and serious
Eden of the East <-- very solid show overall
Kuchuu Buranko <-- kinda trippy
Shiki <-- poor production values, but interesting story

I feel like those are some titles that aren't as polarizing as a lot of others lol.

Yeah, I watched Liar Game 2. I liked it a little better than the first actually! Still haven't seen the movie yet.
