Here's to be flamed

I just saw United 93 and I can honestly say that I am going to catch some shit for my review. Stylistically the film was a mess and the complete lack of any character development and story beyond the events of September 11th. Bleh.

Does it actually play out in "real time" from the point the first plane hits the WTC? Or was some loving review describing the action incorrectly?

I really don't have any urge to watch this though. Pretty much for the same reason I don't like to watch movies about retards, just feeling bad for the sake of feeling bad.

I refuse to watch it on the principle that I believe it's too soon for the movie industry to whore out one of the more horrific events that has occurred during my lifetime. Give it at least ten more years.

That, and I don't want to be sad. If I wanted a movie that would make me cry, I would watch The Notebook, and I'd still have more respect for myself than if I watched Flight 93 when I'm done. Granted, not much, but that little bit can go a long way.

Having been in NYC when the Twin Towers fell, I absolutel disagree with you. I think there's no such thing as "too soon".

From every interview I read that was his whole point. To tell the story without any context of subsequent events, only focusing on the actual happenings at that moment.

I feel that there's a big difference between telling a story and stringing a bunch of events together without having the audience really care about any of the characters and putting them in context. So yeah, I think the story could have been a lot better as its highly dependent on us being emotionally connected to 9/11. The moment we aren't its on the same level as Pearl Harbor.

Well, to each his own. I'd give the film an 8.5 myself.

Sorry, Inside Pulse has a cohesive vision and because of that, we have only one score and it is a 5/10 :p.

all the reviews I've seen are giving it like 5 stars. Very dubious
