Commision question PLEASE HELP!!

Jul 13, 2015 18:45

Hello fellow fursuiters. I've been thinking about starting fursuit commisions soon. Since I dont have any resin head making supplies for realistic heads can I have my customer buy a resin base from someone else and send it to me for furing and other details? Please comment! I need info right away!

warnings, thoughts, resin, rules

Keep in mind, you can use foam for making realistic heads as well. If it's just your preference to use resin I guess if that's how you want to approach it for the time being you could? But don't take my word for it, wait for others input as well.

Of course you can? It's your business, you can conduct it the way you want.

But it would be easier for you to just buy the resin base yourself, and factor the cost into your final price of the fursuit head. It's more convenient for your customer as well.

Don't forget to order anything else you will need at this time as well; it sounds like you're in a hurry. Not all resin bases come with the same features built in. Make sure you read descriptions carefully.

Thanks for the help! I really only want to start selling tails first. I plan to start with full suits in about 1-2 years. I won't be 18 by then, but my parents might manage the whole thing. Same with the tails. (If it's legal. They plan to do more research.) They also said I need a little more experience yet and might put up a notice on Facebook around Halloween time that I can make costumes for you. As for the resin thing, I plan to practice on a couple of heads and if they turn out good, sell them on Furbuy. I appreciate the help! 😋

You should wait until you're over 18. Period ( ... )

18 is so far away.😕 I guess I'll wait *sigh* For my age, I am a talented fursuiter but I know I can't sell 2000.00 suits just yet....but I will someday. I was thinking of selling on a smaller scale I'm going to an arts festival in August and I am going to have some of my work there to sell. Thanks for all the information. How did everyone else get started with commisions? I'm just curious about people's experiences getting started.
