DTD Question (Versitility)

Nov 29, 2014 17:55

Has anyone ever made a dtd for personal or non-personal that could flex to be a Quadsuit Dtd or Normal Dtd all in one or does anyone have suggestions?

Maybe a wireframe inside?

bodysuits, duct tape dummies, quad suits, dtd

To answer the "has anyone ever made" question. No I haven't made anything like that. However I do have an idea!

Tape the components individually. I.e. tape your arm, cap it off and stuff it. Tape your torso, cap it off and stuff it, Tape your leg, etc etc etc. Then joint them together. It probably will not be able to support itself (duct tape dummies really aren't known for supporting themselves on their own anyhow) but at least you could re position it.

If this is for two projects for a client, then just ask for two dummy positions. Engineering this would really only be practical as a personal thing because you will still need to compare leg and arm measurements and elbow position and other stuff I'm pretty sure.

I dunno, an idea's an idea. No clue how or if this would work 100% but it may be jumping point for another idea.

Reminds me of the dummy tutorial posted about half way down the page "self-build dress dummy"
