Gluing the ears down to a solid surface will keep them sturdy.
I use 1/2 inch foam or eva foam. If you're sewing everything down they shouldn't rip off.
DVC sells fans ready to install, so that might be the easiest choice for you. A fan won't make up for a lack of ventilation in your head. Making sure your nose and mouth are unobstructed is very important.
Thanks for the response! And I didn't draw it on, but I was planning on hollowing the muzzle out a bit to make room for the fan and putting a channel in through the nostrils to pull in air from outside. The jaw will be moving so there's no worries about my mouth being obstructed. But the fact that the nose will be hollowed out is why I was worried about if a fan would be too heavy and cause it to bend.
