So in August, I'll be suiting for the first time at Dragoncon in Atlanta. I know the "fursuiting rules" of a normal furry con, but I had a few questions about other conventions

If there isn't a headless lounge, I'd say find a quiet corner or a bathroom to change in. There's not much you can do other than that. I'm not sure what you'd use to transport a suit on a bus.
As far as panels go though, I've seen some people keep their fursuits on, some just remove the head, some take it halfway off (just unzipping the body), and some take it completely off. If you do keep your head on, I'd say to try and find a seat somewhere where your head won't block anyone's view too much.
1. Always try to do a walkaround before any gig/outing, looking both for possible trouble spots and possible quiet cool-off locations.
2. If you know someone with a vendor table, that's best. If you know someone with a hotel room, that's second best but may be a huge imposition on them. Otherwise you can sew a "shapeless bag of doom (TM)" from half a bedsheet...it's like a pillowcase, just larger, and you can sling it over a shoulder.
3. Personal choice. I very much like to stay in character, but sometimes...well like just this past weekend, I didn't have time to de-suit for a panel I *really* wanted to attend...so I stayed way at the back of the room where nobody would see me and popped head. Would rather not, but that was my compromise.
1) Try asking the con staff-- when we suit at ComicCon they're always happy to point us to a quiet spot (most of the time they're like "holy crap, a freaking DRAGON" and provide crowd-control for us
( ... )
Agreed, con staff is usually really happy to oblige. Furries tend to herd around registration/info desk at the conventions I work because I let them store their stuff there >.
1. Pool area. a much better place to get sorted out and cleaned up after suiting. It will give you a chance to brush/spray everything down and air it out. Don't wanna put sweaty fursuit parts back into a bag >.< It's so busy anyway you won't really be noticed.
(worried about sneaking in? pack a towel with you, put it over your shoulder, and look sad until someone lets you in)
Nono, not one of those massive ones, something in this size range. I would measure your head and find something in that range. I wouldn't think twice about buying something this size for one of my foam based fursuit heads. But again, measure!
People go into panels all the time in cosplay, just take the head off. The panel rooms are usually a lot cooler temperature wise so it's a great place to relax; especially since there are chairs!
1) It's recommended to wear under armour underneath or under clothing of course, just to not walk around without clothes after taking it off XD Sometimes I randomly find open rooms that are not in use, sometimes room with a few staff members in it. Bathrooms have to be there no matter what, it's a convention isn't it? But bathrooms are kind of dirty sometimes. The best place for me is to change at the vehicle I was in so long there's something like a fabric mat to sit/lay on so nothing gets dirty.
2) I leave it in the LOCKED vehicle usually. It can be carried but it's quite a hassle. There may be a wheel-container large enough you can wheel around if you need one.
3) Dunno, but standing up or sitting on the floor in the back is a good idea, or taking off the head.
