Hello! I'm new to posting in this community (along with being new to LJ in general), but I've been using this site for a while to get help making my costumes, even though my first one turned out pretty crappy. I learned a lot from screwing that thing up, though ( Read more... )

I'm assuming you are trying to make a plushie suit? Well, all plushies have seams because they're stuffed animals. Or you can make the legs go over the feet on all sides instead of attaching them.

Take it from me, polyfil will migrate. If you MUST pad yourself out try batting or find a way to confine the polyfil so it doesn't sag like an 800 pound woman's kankles.

Spray glue, like most aresols, should be used with caution and give yourself time for the spray to dissipate. There are some people who will argue that using spray glue is too dangerous. People who make fursuits work with dangerous and toxic chemicals every day; resins, adhesives like e6000, createx, spray paints, sealants and inhale bits of fur and foam. It's all about taking proper precautions! Working in a well ventilated area with protection is a great idea.

I have to say that's interesting for the glasses and perfect timing since I'm about to setup an appointment for a new script. It sounds a bit easier than trying to take a head on an off with them on and it's a use for old pairs if the frames can be reused. Might try similar but remove the arms and sit them in the head so they still sit on the nose, thus avoiding any tilt which could cause some distortion.

EDIT: Sorry hit the wrong reply. x-x
