Draconis had many memorable characters, chief among them was “calamitycougar”. I remember him in fursuit sitting in a lawn chair in the lobby of the old Midwest FurFest hotel fishing in the koi pond. Or years later when he was the mc and still in character for the End of the World Con/FurryCon up in Rochester.
The first time I’d heard of Draconis was when he was mainly known as “jugularjaguar” at my second ever furry convention Mephit FurMeet 2003. Apparently he developed a tradition of being thrown in the hotel pool while in suit.
Have a few other memories of our paths crossing over the years but I’d never gotten to know him much at all. But still, he was an amazing performer in costume and certainly an inspiration for many fursuiters. Very sad to hear of his passing :(
