They're always too nervous/angry etc when faced with descriptions of food. It's very bizarre.

By the latter half of the third book, reading ASOIAF becomes like being slammed in the face with GRRM's id...300 pages or so to go.

I didn't really feel the id problem until AFFC, so if you're noticing it now, well then it gets much worse.

Well, I'm reading A Dance with Dragons right now so yes, I do realise it gets worse.....but I'm still reading it, which's a bit embarrassing.

It's really funny you've mentioned GRRM's food descriptions - because I was reading someone else rave about the exact same thing on another journal. *g*

I'm not even sure how - since I'm not following GOT of ASOIAF except through my friends-list - but I inadvertently stumbled across a food blog inspired by ASOIAF. The descriptions posted there seemed very... detailed, lol, but quite nommy too. (Probably because they were accompanied by pictures from the bloggers. Hee.)
