Yup, those Saturday morning cartoons. Though I admit I actually read the comics too back when comic stores still existed.

Their actors are pretty amused by it too. When asked what superpower they'd want, Xavier's actor said he'd want to be able to fly. Magneto's said he'd want the power to make anyone he wanted fall in love with him and use it on Xavier, of course, so Xavier could fly him around. :p

I kind of wish First Class actually included more of the first class, but that's just me. Yeah, namely Cyclops. He was pretty gay and obviously the top in the other movies with his bitch boy Wolverine. O:) Eyebeams are a simple power but one that's pretty universal.

I watched cartoons and read magazine about comics instead of comics themselves.

I love that the actors are slashing the characters so any subtext we see is actually intentional. The acting's actually very good in this movie, I thought.

Cyclops is one of my first Faramir(s), the archetype's obvious....thus emphatically one of the characters I Do Not Slash :|

Alas, and he's always had a gf from the very beginning. Too straight. But he even got called Slim in the AU, and that's a traditional slashy name. I still wonder why he didn't show up since Banshee was in there. And it would've been a good set up for if they do more movies. But then again, most of us wonder why they left out Gambit from the other movies. In that respect, sometimes I wonder who writes these things.

All that, I wouldn't have been convinced if not the scene AFTER the parting where Eric lovingly cradles his First Friend whom he just paralyzed

Sobbing forever. OMFG.
