I love gardening, we've had a huge vegetable garden for a few years now, and a decent sized herb garden in the front yard. And we are surrounded all year long with perennials and annuals. It's a lot of work, but very rewarding. We just had pasta with homemade pasta sauce the other night, and I wait all year long to make my fried green tomatoes :) And it's always nice to take a walk through the garden to pick fresh herbs for dinner. That, and it's a plus to know where your food is coming from.

And wasps can be very beneficial, they eat aphids :)

I wish I could have a garden without having to actually, you know, garden! :D Because yes, knowing where your food comes from is a huge plus.

When I am ruler I shall make all wasps disappear and institute a new bug, non-stinging but lethal to aphids. >:D

You can actually teach yourself to type really easily, there are loads of places that teach you the basics (which are dead easy) and let you do drills -- just google "learn to type" and you'll be flying in no time. It is seriously not complicated, just developing a bit of muscle memory and you can do it at your own pace. ^^

In typing tests, I regularly clock ~97-98, and occasionally break 100.

I have read that typing tests usually will show something close to your top speed rather than your average speed because most people "try harder" while taking tests. I used to have a program a couple of years back that timed my speed in the background while I did my usual things, and it was always slower than any test I tried to take, so I believe that. ^^;

I have a ridiculously low typing speed, unfortunately - I tend to make a lot of typos and have to go back. At least I don't look at the keyboard? But the worst part is, I use only my index fingers 90% of the time. :( So the last test I did said 60 words per minute, which was still more than I expected XD

60 with just your index fingers is pretty impressive! xD

That's what I tell myself ;D

(Well, I do use other fingers for non-letters... but not for letters. :()

Oh, and balconing, to be more exact, but I do like it. My own herbs, lettuce, cherry tomatoes and wild strawberries <3 There's not much weeding or anything to be done, though, just the watering.

I've been revising my CV lately, so my strengths and weaknesses are all 'job interview' talking points, but it is easy if you've been thinking about them a lot. xP

As for the speech habits, I think it has to do with how women are taught to diminish the strength of their opinions, so we soften them with filler words or modifiers, and it trickles down after a while to become somewhat permanent?

oh god i have no trouble THINKING of my strengths but if some person with my career in their hands asked me i'd be like.. umm.... i ... can.... whistle? xD

I hear you, but that doesn't really apply in my case. I've never actually felt compelled to diminish the strength of my opinions because I wasn't raised in an environment where this was a thing (misogyny in the Soviet Union manifested itself in other ways). I actually started consciously modifying my speech after coming to Canada as a result of women I met often confessing, after we were already friends, having been initially intimidated to talk to me because I'm so blunt and uncompromising, and I became especially conscious of it in fandom because whereas offline I usually hang out with extroverts, on here most people are introverted so it's already difficult for introverts to deal with in-your-face-ness. I use "like" and "i mean" more as punctuation though. :'D
