I loved the "educational" programme inside the T2 thing while you wait to be let into the auditorium. So realistic! I hope you get a chance to check out the new version because the special effects are just astonishing. They've really kept up with the times; it didn't feel dated or cheesy (except for the bad acting by the body doubles, but I guess they're not paid well enough to act with any effort).

It was the first officially sanctioned fan event! For all that, it wasn't terribly fannish; I like the fan-run cons better for that aspect.

I did not buy a wand. Can't justify spending that much money on something I will never use. I did buy a really slick-looking notebook with a heavy Slytherin crest on the front and green pages ^_^

I was so disappointed by my month wand. I was short and ugly. DNW! I kind of liked Narcissa's wand but I didn't get one either. I didn't know what I'd do with it even though I did want one.

I didn't get anything else, just the notebook! My favourite part was just wandering around Hogsmeade, tbh -- it's so atmospheric! Though the Dragon Challenge coaster was pretty fun. \:D/

I thought "when am I ever going to come back. Give me ALL THE THINGS". I got wands and a Hogwarts notebook (they didn't have Hufflepuff ones when I was there. The nerve!), and a time turner and a Hufflepuff pin, and a passport sleeve thingie.

Oh, Hogsmeade. Yes! I cried when I went in. It's so overwhelming :D

no, that's understandable -- I am awash in HP merchandise already (and my robes are WAY better quality than the ones they were selling everywhere at the park) so I can actually walk through a HP shop and browse idly without getting super excited because "oh, I already have one" or "oh, I really don't need one" or "I can get that cheaper at a fan con" >_> I did dither over a terry-cloth Slytherin towel/blanket thing but decided I could just sew one myself for half the price they were asking.

There was a shocking lack of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff merch all around the place -- Slytherin and Gryffindor EVERYWHERE though.
