Yes on all of those too! I think I'm especially skdljfkfdl;dfj;kljk about peak/peek right now because of the HP trailer; everyone and their pet poodle are saying "sneak peak" and I am just like ARGH STOP IT.

Dismissing someone's opinion because you perceive them to be from the "PC brigade" or "thought police" or some other cute moniker of your choosing for people who speak up out of a sense of obligation/reward-seeking rather than people who actually believe what they say. Yeah, there are people who are super-quick to point out other people's instances of fail just so they can give themselves a cookie. That in itself doesn't erase the problem they're reacting to; their sincerity or lack thereof has nothing to do with what is actually happening. That you're quick to dismiss them on that basis says a whole lot more about you than it does about them

This pisses me off too.

I honestly don't get why it's even accepted by some people as a logical excuse not to listen. Even if someone's authority in, say, mathematics is self-proclaimed and artificial, if that person says that 2+2 equals 4, they're no wronger than a math professor.

In other news, the riots appear to have abated (though the protests are ongoing), but now we have police brutality and false imprisonment, and the feds and the province both are refusing an inquiry. D:
