Best Movie Titles of All Time

Nov 30, 2009 16:37

To round out Nablopomo, I bring you this list, chosen according to the highly scientific and completely accurate method of randomly browsing IMDb whilst half-crazed from caffeine and suffering from an acute lack of delicious cake. My absolute favourites (titles, not movies -- I've only seen a few of these) are bolded. :D

The list! )

I've seen roughly half of these, which is either awesome or lame. Like karaz, I love Lifetime movie titles -- and Hallmark Channel movie titles. CLASSIC. Personally, one of my favorite film titles is "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," which I would say wouldn't count because it's a book title, but you have a few of those up there! So, WIN.

I... haven't. But after reading the summary (LOOOOOOL), I'd have to contend that zombies aren't made like that, therefore nullifying it's title. ALTHOUGH, it was made, like, four years before "Night of the Living Dead," which is pretty much the starting point for most modern film zombie-lore. Hmm.

Enjoy "Don't Be a Menace!" It's one of those interesting comedies that is both hilarious and thinky (though I don't know how many blaxploitation films you've seen).

In kind of the same vein, I'm surprised you haven't seen "Dr Strangelove." I would be interested to know what you thought about it, being from Eastern Europe.

Haha, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's nest is sitting on pause in my DVD player right now. I got an hour in before my boyfriend came in and announced that he was bored. We watched something called "Sex Drive" instead which involved multiple car chases, amish!Seth Green, and a truck stop gloryhole.

It amuses me that you toy with the fest idea, because the don't be a menace to south central one would be an amazing title for a fic i'm writing. i will pretend i never said that, lest i use it. such a dead giveaway.

Some of these are bonzer! I highly recommend watching (Deep Breath) The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living And Became Mixed Up Zombies (whew!) in all its gloriousness through the magic of Mystery Science Theater 3000! (Youtube link to part 1) Hey, that's another interesting movie title.

Always glad to share the MSTie love! Oddly, that's the only one on your list that made MST3k.

I'll put in another recommendation for Dr. Strangelove. Some great performances by George C Scott and at least 3 versions of Peter Sellers.
