You didn't miss anything terribly exciting -- the Sir Mix-a-Lot thing was just a tiny clip from Seattle before Blake performed his own choice for the night. As far as the show itself went, it wasn't spectacular television. It's just more of the same old "come on, get on with the singing, so America can get on with the voting, so I can find out who's in the finals!!!" :D

I thought the montage of Blake's songs was funny because the only thing that told me where one song ended and the next began was the change in outfits. I suppose you could be charitable and say that at least he knows what suits him but... I'd really like to see him take on something unusual and exciting?

Dude, yeah. A Blake Lewis rendition of a Pearl Jam song? He doesn't really have the voice for that sort of music so it'd be interesting to see how he compensated. The possibilities are endless really!

I don't get Melinda. I really, really don't.

Like, I understand intellectually that she is flawless, that she does what she does perfectly. But, like. I don't like what she does? So doing it flawlessly is still lost on me.

She should win, though. Being an AI winner will be good for her.

And Blake just needs to make his own album RIGHT NOW so I can go buy it. Srsly. I mean, just. Please?

IDK about "getting" her; I know that she's got a voice and range that are goosebump-inducing, and she's got a lot better at not looking terribly surprised every time she's praised. I can't say I'm rooting for her to win -- I'm not really rooting for anyone to win. Everybody I hated got voted off; what else could a girl ask for? XD

BLAKE RLY SRSLY DOES. MAKE AN ALBUM. GO ON TOUR. I would break my ten-year concert moratorium for it.

See, Jordin gives me goosebumps occasionally. Melinda BORES me. And part of that is probably her song choices. I don't like them, by and large, so even doing them perfectly... I'm still not going to like?

Sigh, whatever. It would just be best, career wise, for her to win. Jordin will either do pop, as HOW many of the guests have offered to produce for her? Or she'll go Broadway, and make a killing. She's got the voice for it, and the personality. And hell, look at Sara Ramirez. It's not like you have to be tiny to be a Tony winner.

And, yeah. Blake, pls get your album out pronto. I know you're going to. Hell, I know that most of it is probably already pre-produced and sitting in demos on your ProTools at home. Just please, please do it soon. We need more music that intelligently borrows from the pop, rock, and hip hop traditions! *flaily hands!*

Yeah, I agree with you on Melinda. Granted I haven't watched an actual episode this season, but from everything I can dig up of hers on the AI website, I'm not at all impressed. *shrug*

I for one would have loved to see her take on Mmmbop, since she's just finished saying it's one of her all-time favourite songs.

Ahahaha, when they went to a commercial before she and Blake sang, I said to my mom, "I guess Jordin will be singing Mmmbop, then?"

I think that out of the three, no matter what the results are, Blake is going to be the most successful. I feel that he'll be like a Clay Aiken or Kelly Clarkson in that people will remember him beyond his time on American Idol. But I agree that all three are pretty awesome, and that now it's pretty difficult to decide who's best.

I was not crazy about Blake.

I had not seen the previous version that Jordin sang, so it gave me chills. I really liked it.

Melinda is technically perfect. She's not as captivating as she could be. I mean, I think that singers are best when they have little flaws, because it gives them originality and spark. That's why I love Jordin, because she's not always EXACTLY note perfect, and I think she has a great voice. Also, Jordin needs to be on B'way liek whoa.
