I've been re-reading the Wheel of Time series in my sparse free time, and I wonder -- could a Seanchan-born damane be a Darkfriend? On her own, without compulsion by a sul'dam?

Anyone? Bueller?

Also, does anyone know when RJ is planning on finishing the bloody series? :|

I have been meaning to pick up this series for some time now. Everyone I speak to that has read WoT has highly recommended it. Can't wait to get into it!

Have not read WoT in approx. 1 million years.

But I don't think they can be unless they were previously free, as noted below. Poor little damanes.

I think so. Becoming a Darkfriend overrides all your other loyalties. I think they could come up with a way to overcome the a'dam compulsion. And anyway, I think they could probably make it so that two Darkfriends are always linked.
And wasn't RJ very very sick? I hope he's better now. I miss the series (even if some parts of it drove me insane).
