hotel sold out ?

I called this morning and was directed to the local hotel number of 203-706-1000 from the number listed on the con page. They informed me that not only was the con block sold out on Friday and Saturday night but the hotel was sold out and there were no rooms available. They stated they could do something at a nearby hotel only 5 minutes away but figure that kinda defeats the point. I wasn't sure there was anything that could be done, but can you please check with the hotel that the info I was told today was correct. Thanks.
