IC POST: Music?

May 31, 2010 17:59

Feliciano has been chiding me to get some more recent musical artists. Frankly, I do not know what a 'Ke$ha' is and I am fairly certain I do not wish to know. That said, I have no idea where to start. Up until now I've listened to classical music. What do the kids people listen to nowadays?

Maybe you could work your way up slowly?
Jumping from classical to Ke$ha would just hurt, but you could probably update to some mellow forties/fifties tunes, and gradually modernize from there.

I am afraid, even then, I am at a loss. Do you have any artists in mind?

If you're going to start in the forties,
Frank Sinatra is awesome. And if you find you like his style of jazz, you can branch out to Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. to complete the Rat-pack. Ella Fitzgerald is the same era and genre.

You might want to try Pandora.com. If you find a song or an artist you particularly like, it can find you things that are similar.

KAT-TUN is very popular this time of year. Their newest album is very diverse and they have quite a few intense pieces that I think you would enjoy. You should listen to some of their songs. I could lend you my CD, if you would like?

Classical music is the only music that can be called music.
