I found your LJ through one of the foodie LJs, can't remember which. Just wanted to post and say HI. And also, your current userpic is fantastic! fresh blueberries just may be better than sex!

Hi back! Welcome to my crazy world. I hope it's not too boring in between food descriptions. :)

My DH made that icon for me, when I first wanted foodie type icons.

It was, and we miss you too. Let us know when you are available - what day(s) you're off in the evening, etc. We could certain plan something around you and your lovely wife.

Oh my god. I am just quivering with jealousy. Yum. Your flans look amazing. And I checked out mc_beth's photos -- Goldy, Rupert's getting very cute -- I bet you have to fend off ladies camped on the doorstep.

I wish I had been there. Yummmmm.

That's a lotta foie gras! anonymous August 10 2007, 22:06:04 UTC
Hey Goldy, don't get tempted by the sweet white wine pairing; stay with the (proper) gin martini or pinot noir pairing, or your blood stream will soon resemble gelatin.
Granted, you will be happy the entire time!
Enjoy,
Steve R.
PS: the only martini recipe without vermouth- Tanquerey 10 gin, shaken with a sliver of jalapeno pepper, serve up in a chilled glass and garnish with another sliver of jalapeno. Hot-sweet-gin goodness!
PPS: the best vermouth I've found, one you will want to pour off the ice in your shaker and drink ahead of the martini, is Vya. (http://www.vya.com/) Life is too short for bad food or cheap booze!
