Winry opened the door to their bedroom and peeked inside, then sighed and closed the door behind her. "Ed?" She asked softly, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the darkness of the room before she tried to move forward. "Are you awake?"

"Mmm, yeah, I am," Ed murmured, rolling over to face Winry.

Winry sat down on the bed next to him and reached out to run her fingers through his hair. "I came to see how you are," she said softly.

"I'm fine," he said softly, "Just a bit tired."

Winry nodded and slid her hand down to massage his neck gently. "Is there anything I can do?"

Winry nodded, though she knew he probably couldn't see it. "Of course. I wouldn't have accepted anything else,"

"Hey, where's little Al?," Ed asked, smiling wanly up at his wife.

"Playing in his room, I think," Winry said, smiling back down at him as she ran her fingers through his hair again. "Should I go get him?"

"If you don't mind," Ed replied.

Winry rolled her eyes, but smiled as Al laughed and grabbed at his father. "I guess he'll be okay. You turned out pretty cute."

Ed lifted his son up and over his head, laughing along with him.

Abruptly Al poked Ed's arm and grinned down at him. "You're it, Daddy!"

"I am?," Ed asked, feigning confusion as he set Al on the floor, "Well, I guess you'd better get to running."

"Crap," Alphonse whispered, and crouched down, ready to spring past Ed as soon as he opened the doors.

Ed pulled the closet door open quickly and peered inside.

With a loud cry, Al shot forward to run past Ed.

Ed threw out his good arm and caught Al around the middle, sweeping him up into his arms and over his head.

Winry grinned and curled her fingers against his jaw, pulling him down slightly as she leaned up to kiss him softly on the lips. "Yeah," she whispered.

"Ew, Mommy," Alphonse said, and turned away from them to bury his face against Ed's shoulder.

Ed laughed and kissed the side of Al's head. "You'd better stay this cute for a long time."

"Why do you like it when Mommy does that, Daddy?" Al asked, pulling back to look up at him, his nose wrinkling in thought and what was probably distaste.

"Rosaline used to ask us the same thing," Ed replied, "You'll find out when you're older."
