Al sighed contently and sunk down into his armchair, the day's newspaper in hand. Olivia was hunched over the coffee table drawing something and Roxas was back nt he kitchen cooking. Al never felt more at peace than he did on evenings like these.

It had been a long day, and Axel was tired as hell. As he moved up the steps onto his porch and dug his keys from his pocket, though, things seemed to brighten, at least a little.

When he entered his house and kicked the door closed, he couldn't help but smirk at the sight of Olivia coloring and Al reading a newspaper. "Careful, kid. If this gets any more domestic, you're going to have to join the fu- er, the PTA or something."

"I don't think they'd let me, since Olivia doesn't go to school," Al said evenly.

Olivia jumped up from where she was sitting and ran forward to hug Axel's legs.

Axel ruffled Olivia's hair as he kicked of his shoes, then lifted her up into her arms. "Hey, tadpole. You have a good day with your dad?"

"She does too go to school," Roxas called from the kitchen. "But if you're going to be that way, this teacher isn't going to be very polite at the next parent-teacher conference, Alphonse."

Al laughed. "We'll have to schedule one soon, I think," he called out.

Olivia nodded and threw her arms around his neck.

Axel grinned and ruffled her hair. "There you go. Just make sure Roxas doesn't end up being the one to talk care of it, okay?"

Roxas came into the living room to sit on the armrest of Al's chair. "Take care of what?"

"I'm getting a kitten!," Olivia answered proudly, "Daddy said I could."

Roxas smiled and looked down at Al. "You just said yes so you could get another kitten too, didn't you?"

Al blushed lightly. "...Maybe."

Roxas looked at Al over his shoulder for a moment, then shook his head. "I was just teasing you, Al." He said, opening the oven and bending down to peek at the food.

Al rolled his eyes and walked over to slide his arms around the older man's waist.

Roxas laid his hand over Al's as he stood, then turned around to kiss him lightly on the cheek. "It's almost ready. Hungry?"

Al nodded and returned the kiss, pulling Roxas back against his chest.

Roxas hummed lightly and tilted his head to the side. "That's a good way to start things off..."

"I'd do more... But, dinner."

"Mmm, if you'd quit distracting me, I could get on with that," Roxas said, turning to kiss him lightly. "Why don't you go tell Axel and Olivia it's ready?"

Al pulled away reluctantly and headed into the living room. "Go wash up for dinner, Livie," he said.
