It's sort of reminded me of The Lake House (with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock) in that Claudia seemed to be living in a different time within Beacon Hills (or out of time since she'd dead) and was privy to stuff that happened in the future? I don't know. I don't have all the specifics, but that's what it reminded me of because she left that letter for Stiles mentioning (his relationship with) Derek and whether or not Melissa and his dad were married yet.
I hadn't thought about The Lake House, but I can see the similarities. Claudia, in this series, is a really powerful magic user. I'm hesitant to say witch because a) I haven't really decided yet and b) witches often have negative connotations for people. So this Claudia is dead but can interact with the living world. She wrote to the sheriff in the first ficlet and has now left this letter for Stiles. I think she can find out some of what is happening in BH but in my head I imagine it takes a lot of exhausting magic so she doesn't do it often or unless it's important.
