I actually have a tiny seed of interest in this pairing. It's interesting to me because you have the considerable age difference that I adore, but without the skeevy statutory rape/underage issues. Thank you for this, it's made me think even more about it :D

Awe thank you. Although we don't know Derek's age, I see him more as being like 25 than an under-aged teenager so to me it's perfectly legal for John to date Derek :).

Oh yeah, despite Jeff's attempts at mysterious, I think there's enough evidence in canon that Derek's 25 (I meant in contrast to the derek/stiles pairing).
