This was a brilliant chapter - I liked the way Charlene got Remus to come back to Hogwarts and the relationship you gave them. I'm surprised the ever-brilliant Dumbledore couldn't work out putting two werewolves together was a bad idea...*shakes head*

Well, in Dumbledore's defence, it would have been a good idea if there hadn't been all the unresolved issues between the three of them. Remus had seen two werewolves sharing a cage at the Ministry and Dumbledore would have read reports about either those or similar situations. He did ask them specifically if there were any issues, but Remus and Charlene unfortunately didn't say anything.

The next chapter shouldn't be too long in coming as it is pretty short and was actually originally a part of this one. But this one got extended and split after consultations with my beta, and the result is that my beta has already seen the first draft of what is the next chapter once already.

I said back at the chapter where they started dating... be careful what you wish for... But no one ever listens.

As for whether she is dead or not; I'm afraid you'll have to wait until the next chapter to find out for sure.

As for Sirius - you'll have to wait and see for that, too. He may have some other ideas up his sleeve as well as, or instead of, the one you are thinking of. I am sneaky like that, I'm afraid.

So glad to see another chapter...and what a chapter!

Why, oh why, would Dumbledore possibly think putting two werewolves together would be a good idea? Especially with Sirius there?

And I know we don't like Charlie, but sheesh, did you have to bump her off? (if in fact she really is dead...)

Dumbledore's idea was a good one - or it would have been if the two werewolves had been honest about the unresolved issues between them and Sirius. Unfortunately, they weren't.

As for Charlene - see my comment above - I told people to be careful what they wished for when they complained about this character and told me to kill her off as soon as she started dating Remus. But no one ever listens. Whether she is actually dead or not will have to remain a secret until the next chapter though.

Yes, Sirius is a very big issue, and one that neither of them have truly dealt with. Unfortunately, Dumbledore took the two werewolves at their word, and will have his own guilt to deal with.
