[After getting Katara settled, Alfons had gone to speak to the nurses and find some coffee. He'd managed both, but only one thing had proved any kind of useful--he comes back with two cups of bitter institutional coffee, and wordlessly offers one to Edward.]

...She doesn't seem sick. I'm sure it's just something strange about this place.

It's coffee.

I've known of this happening before. Sometimes it lasts an entire week, and then goes away.

This has happened before.

Most of them are sleeping for about a week, and when they wake up they have new memories, as if they had gone back to their worlds for a while.
