Ed steps into the bare apartment. He grabs the phone and dials the number Sarah had given him, idly wondering if he was being charged international rates, and if so, how the hell were they measured over different worlds. But anyway, the ring tone came on.

"C'mon sweetheart, pick up."

Fortunately, Sarah recently started to actually keep her cellphone on and with her at all times, not just when she went out of the house. Of course, in this case 'on her at all times' equates to 'on the other side of the kitchen hidden underneath a pile of dishrags'.

SCRAMBLE!

beep! "Hello?"

"Thank you kindly." He hails a cab as they step ont the curb. Holding the door open for her. "My lady?"

Sarah smiles sweetly and climbs in, going all the way in to the other side of the cab.

Ed climbs in next to her, giving the cabbie the address of the restaraunt, before leaning back and smiling at her.
"Well, our first real date. I'm sorry I took so long."

Sarah smiles back at him, placing her hand over his on the seat. "This is just the first fancy date. I think our little wandering trip can count as a date."

"You think so? You paid, so I don't think it does." :P

Sarah gives him a look. "You paid for the books!"

"So what? I'm allowed to pamper my girlfriend! And HOW can I do that if she insists on paying?!"

Sarah laughs. "Well, you just have to deal! Or find ways that don't involve money." A sly grin is tacked onto the last part of that comment.

He opens his mouth to say something before snapping it shut again. Seeing the look in her eyes. "Uh oh...what're you planning?"

She laughs at the look on Ed's face. "So quick to jump to conclusions~! It was just an honest suggestion, Ed!" Such a mischievous soul...

"I don't believe you..." He eyes her warily.

Innocent smile~! You know you can't resist the face, Ed.

[full_metal_ed]

He rolls his eyes, and shifts closer, wrapping an arm around her waist and planting a light kiss to her neck. "Fine."

She smiles softly and curls an arm around him as well. "I win."
