I'm not sure I know anyone who likes PETA.

I'm sort of convinced that they actually exist to make vegetarians look better. PETA's *so* over the top, so completely self-satirical, that it just draws any and all derision towards the animal rights movement. It's easy to disavow PETA, and anyone who does looks perfectly reasonable.[1]

[1] - CLARIFICATION: I am not saying that vegetarianism is necessarily unreasonable.
