My darling nieces and nephew consider Tool and other music from the late 20th and early 21st century lullabies.

But that's because my sister is somewhat nifty.

It's important to let children hear much and find much so their little brains can grow up to be bigger-than-our brains. Who knows how Arts and Sciences will be embiggened by their early practicing upon the shoulders of giants.

Ok, I'm done bragging.

One of Zoe's latest favorites is Jesus Built My Hotrod by Ministry. It's so funny to watch her bob her head to the music.

Michael loved to sing songs I played by Incognito as much as his favorite Elmo stuff.

I'm having a grand old time with bands that are having their own kids and turning to making music for them (e.g. Barenaked Ladies).

Also, They Might Be Giants makes great kid-targeted stuff, although I would happily expose my kids to their whole portfolio.

Every night for the last year, D has fallen asleep to the melodious sounds of Baby Metallica:

I censor music selection in front of my kids based on what my kids can't stand. As the overlap between what the oldest likes and what the girl likes isn't as big as it might be, it gets interesting in the car sometimes.
