Anime spring 2009

I got a backwards compliment yesterday. I was eating lunch with two of my co-workers and they agreed that the person, who had my job before me was "considerably stupider" than me. I really don't know what to make of it. Is it a compliment or am I just not as stupid as she was ( Read more... )

07 Ghost is hilarious XD I read the manga and well... XD Awesome thing. I can tell you that there were no nuns in the manga :P Only the male staff mostly. BTW... Seen what Frau reads? XD
And that reminds me that I still don't know if one of Ayanami's hawks is girl or ot - I mean that person who looks like a kid.

I briefly considered trying to read the manga instead, but then I thought that I have too much to read/watch already without trying to like a series that for some reason bothered me. No nuns? That's good. Was there no eyefish as well?

I'm not sure if I know what you are talking about.

I wouldn't worry about your co-workers' comment if I were you.

This season's animes look pretty interesting. Although they all seem to be the same considering how most are fantasy based.

I don't worry, I'm just a little huh? about it.

I wouldn't say they are all the same. None of them is too far into the story yet, but at least the settings are somewhat different. Some have magic, some have not, the historical setting is different too. Maybe I'm biased since I love fantasy and am glad to have a lot of it this season.

I love the fantasy genre as well. Especially Lord of the Rings-type fantasies where the setting is in a completely different world.

Are the animes based on a manga or are they an original series?

I like the different worlds as well.

07-Ghost is a manga, I think Hanasakeru is as well, no idea about Souten Kouro and Guin Saga. Valkyria Chronicles, Sengoku Basara and Tears to Tiara are based on video games.

Hee! I took your rec and started watching Tears to Tiara - I'm three eps in and it looks pretty interesting and engaging. And the battle scenes are quite fun, really, and there is a relative lack of chest-thumping, which is a huge relief.

Should Gaius remind me of Goudai?

I'm glad it was useful for someone. So far it's been fun let's just hope it will stay this way. Apparently Tears to Tiara was originally a video game, so there might be more information available online.

It's mangaland, everybody reminds you somebody else. XP

I'm following 07-Ghost (manga & anime) mostly because I like Frau. The manga makes my yaoi bells ring more than the anime, but I live in hope. :P

I read about Guin Saga somewhere else and sounded interested, but then I saw the gladiator guy with the panther head. I don't think I could watch it without dying of laughter.

Hmmm, I think I may try Hanasakeru Seishonen, if only for the pretty. *is shallow* Shoujo isn't really my thing, but if it isn't too sugary sweet look-at-the-perfect-girl, I might even be able to watch it more than five minutes.

I also read about Tears to Tiara, but the whole "this guy will have three or more wives" rubbed me the wrong way. :/

I guess it's one of those things that my friends list likes and I just don't get. Like CLAMP for example.

He really does look hilarious, put he somehow manages to pull it off. Or at least I'm not dying with laughter, maybe it's because he is such a serious character.

I'm not usually into shoujo either. Kajika I don't like for some reason, but I wouldn't call her a perfect girl either, she seems a bit silly to me, but maybe she is meant to be perfect and I just don't get it. Who knows?

All the "marriages" seem to happen by accident. So far I've seen 4 episodes and he has two and he has not really shown any interest in them in that way. Rhiannon just decided on her own and with Morgan he said, "Let's keep her." as in she doesn't have to die and for some reason everybody though that she is wife #2 now. Don't ask me how that works. Nobody seemed to mind.
