[ scenario one- Vaati is rather displeased with witnessing the young fairy queen on her feet on the dancefloor. it's not long until he sweeps up beside her, taking her hand with much of a care for how surprised she might be. he down up at her, all cool red eyes and pale completion. ]
You're an embarrassment to your fellow forest folk. Come here.
[ scenario two- Vaati is horrible ill. something that should never happen to such a vastly powerful mage. but it has, no matter how it can be explained, and he's been confined to his bed. even though he's stuck in bed he refuses to remove the wishing cap from his person, clutching it in a sweating palm and trying to push the covers away from himself.
it's much too hot. how could his body be so hot...? what he would give for a gust of wind from the outside to cool him, but this fairy queen refused to let him leave... and he was powerless to speak against her! it was infuriating...! ]
You are unaware? My cousin Melvin already attempted a revolt with his shadow knights and a fair number of soldiers who believed I would not make a fitting queen.
[slowing down a bit] ...They were right, at the time. But I have since proven myself, and regained their loyalty.
[Now, twirling, that she can handle with ease. Though, it might be cheating the way she lifts off the ground and lets her wings do the work for this move.
She might have actually blushed, had he not just not-complimented her. Her attempt to continue staring him down and not just look at her feet fails miserably.] I am capable of learning, and I suppose you are... an adequate teacher.
[ he'll pull her close again, making no moves for another step, both of them simply standing there close together before he lets go of her and steps back. ]

[ pulling you closer to his chest, that smirk still on his face. ]
You'll never accomplish anything with such a mentality. A good ruler needs fear and respect to rule.

The only ones that need fear me are my enemies. A real queen rules through mutual respect and loyalty.

I believe they learned their lesson the first time they tried that.

Is that so? I still fail so see your charms over them.

It must be poor eyesight on your part. [Picking up speed again, and perhaps leading without realizing it. She's suddenly gotten much better.]

I am not from your land of fairies, little queen. Have you not yet realized this? Where I am from no one knows the names of these lands.

Hmm. I suppose I'll have to prove myself with new deeds then, instead of relying on my old ones to earn me respect.
