It's not just you. We have such a mishmash of plugs and boxes and other apparati that we never know what to plug into what to make something work.
The language you hear in our house at those times is quiet colourful to say the least.

You're watching Danish films in DANISH? I hope there are at least subtitles.

I did get some cable-tidy things, but they seem to only work if all the cables are going in the same direction, and didn't make much difference. Not to mention the bag of cables and chargers that are no longer used but kept because they may come in handy!

The dialogue is in Danish, but it does have subtitles, which is good, as I usually watch English stuff with subtitles too, so it isn't too loud.

I loved Bron (I and II) when it was on BBC4, and started getting the DVDs when my library suddently developed a "Nordic Noiir" section and I couldn't get into BBC4's Belgian replacement. At the moment, I'm watching something called Unit One, which is a fairly straight, but very good, police series about a mobile police unit who move around Denmark, so you see a different bit in each episode, which is interesting. Denmark mostly seems to look a lot like East Anglia, and, unlike in The Bridge, is in colour. I've just finished series one and two and have series three on order.

Glad you saw and liked Bron as well. I really enjoy the Scandinavian made programmes even with the sub titles but there's plenty of English turns up and Danish words that sound English! :) The Killing was great as well. I might pop to the Library and see if the have Unit One. It's only a tenner for series one on DVD but then there's more seasons and I don't have room to keep buying boxed sets. My torrent site doesn't have it so I can't download it.

I don't much mind subtitles and tend to have them turned on even when I'm watching English TV (maybe my hearing is a bit off). Danish, like Dutch, is similar enough to English that you can pick out quite a few recognisable words (the Danish for "job" seems to be "job" for example)

You might find Unit One as Rejseholdet, which is the original title (and seems to mean nothing like Unit One), although then I suppose you might end up with a copy without subtitles.
