That smell of rain on dry ground is lovely and it's nice to have a name for it :)

We have had some black skies and blustery wind but only a couple of light showers so not enough to give our plants and crops a decent drink. I hope we get some heavy rain overnight. It seems there's been thunderstorms everywhere except here! Take care of yourself with that chill!

It's a lovely word, isn't it?

Incidentally, I've added you to my friends list, if that's ok with you.

That's certainly ok with me. I had already added you, (without asking) which I hope you don't mind. I'm never sure on here if you handle new people like you do on Facebook, where you simply try to friend someone, and they either accept or not. Or if it's more polite to ask first on LJ. But since most of my entries are for friends only here, I'm not sure how a potential new friend would decide without accepting and trying it out.

Sigh. Much of the digital world confuses me.

Thank you for sending that word. Its a good word for a good smell. We have a word a day sent to our email. Sometimes we know it, and sometimes not. Petrichor is good word. It's suppose to rain all weekend here, so I will think of this word in proper context.
