The g-d and boyfriend are due from Paris this evening. Last year they were stuck when Eurostar collapsed, and it looks as if this year they will be stuck in rather a lot of snow

I suspect that you are better equipped for it than us - you can just see a conked-out bus in the distance of that photo; they are all either just seizing up in the cold (only about -3) or just not getting up hills.
I'm not sure how the trains are faring but the plane situation is dire with both Heathrow and Gatwick closed. Ah...just checked the Eurostar service and the trains are running with delays of an hour but so far they're arriving. Fingers crossed!
You really do have quite a nice view from your windows. :) It's pouring down rain here today and we were going to move Vicki's furniture but I think that will have to wait. :(
I think on the whole I prefer snow to rain - at least it looks pretty. I love the view of the little park from my window, and keep meaning to photograph it every week for a record of the seasons.
I'm more worried about their getting from the Eurostar terminal to my place. The easiest way (literally door-to-door) is by bus, but although there is a lot more (very slow) traffic on the roads now, I still haven't seen any buses moving. The stranded one at the end of the road seems to have moved though.
Cor, brave you venturing out, glad you made it home safe and sound :-) Hope the g-d and BF get to you okay. What a day to try and travel. It looks pretty outside your window, if it weren't for the cars it would look vaguely Dickensian :-) Have a lovely weekend and stay warm!
What a pretty picture you posted. It's very Charles Dickens isn't it? lol. It does look pretty, but very very cold. I'm ashamed to say, I'm wearing a jacket if the temperature drops much below 80 degrees F, and here you are trudging in this freezing weather!
