Income is always good, although most of it will be going to pay off my six-month tax bill, which I would still have had to pay if I hadn't been working. This sort of contract work tends to be rather erratic, but I am hoping that when we get a (hopefully good) reputation it will be more steady.
The squareness should be fixed when I sew the whole thing together, as it is going to have strips of fabric between them. The writing slope was from eBay. Inside, it has a stripy velvet surface on the actual writing surface that looks original. I have a bit of a thing about writing slopes - they are really easy to come by, and satisfyingly small and easy to work with. I've also found a place that sells unpainted wood ones that I'm hoping to be able to adapt to hold a small laptop, and then paint up.

The quilt squares are lovely, I hope we see a photo of the finished product :-) When is your brother's anniversary?
