Short post by a very tired person.

My niece is back from Amsterdam for the weekend (feeling a little homesick, I think), and today I met her for lunch and a stroll around the Euston Road. She seems to be really enjoying herself, and brought me a stroopwaffel and a nice postcard of quinces. With any luck, I should be able to get over to see her before spring is out, perhaps by ( Read more... )

I love London and all it has to offer but exhibitions and galleries tire me so quickly. An hour just about does me so I'm awed that you spent so long at it. Glad you had a good time with your niece.

Mmmm, stroopwaffel....buy me a packet and I scoff the lot straight off!

I find after a while, I can't take anything more in - I'll probably go back to the photography one on my own. The Wellcome Collection has nice small-sized temporary exhibitions and a couple of equally manageable permanent ones, as well as an excellent cafe.

I'm really glad she only brought me the one waffel!

Mmmmm...stroopwaffels!
Amsterdam is a fascinating city to visit. Have you been there?

You've got me curious about the exhibition. It sounds...complicated?
Love the cafe at the Wellcome.

I also love rabbit stew!

Btw, the dates of our visit are May 12 (doesn't count, arrive late) to 17 (day we leave).

I've never been to Amsterdam, but I'm really looking forward to a visit. Katie's student flat is right next to the zoo (she can hear the animals at night) and very close to the botanic gardens, which are apparently really worth seeing. She's also near a flea market. She really likes it there, and seems to have going a bit native- she's already bought a bicycle

I've made a note of your dates. I seem to be building up a pretty active spring/summer programme!
