The curious thing about making them is that their expressions vary so much, probably because they are hand-sewn. I have made a few evil ones deliberately, which I can't find photos for, including Boris the Evil Monkey and Osama bin Laden, both done for the brother, and I'm working on a Hellboy at the moment, although he's not especially evil.
My own sock monkey looks rather demonic depending on the light he's in. It's the huge shiny button eyes that reflect what little light there is in the dark that do it. :D
Would you take two special order monkies? I was thinking of one in tones of green and another in blues. Demonic or not. They're for Christmas presents. Smaller size ones would be best as they'd be sent off in the post.
Set your price and I'll pick them up in a month! :)
I think getting things done around the house is a good kind of therapy. I know when I'm especially depressed I just let it all go to hell and then get more depressed because it requires major work. But when it's done it feels very gratifying indeed. I'm glad you're feeling better now.
Oh, that sounds much better. I'm so glad you're feeling better and that your roof will be stable for winter. (And I am selfishly pleased to know you'll be working at Chatsworth, because then you can tell us all about it!)
