I am recurred!

It seems like ages since I’ve posted here. In fact it is ages. Two weeks working away has left me exhausted, and snowed under with house and garden work, but with plenty to write about (and a quite unreasonable expectation that there will be a butler around to write it for me) so expect plenty of pictures and exciting descriptions of the high ( Read more... )

apologies, dogs, gardens

Ah thanks! I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the breed. I'd never met one before, but I was really taken by her.

They seem to have gotten much more popular in the last ten years or so, maybe even the last five. I don't think I'd ever seen them before that, but now I run into them pretty frequently around New York and San Francisco. (Too bad all of the dogs I saw when I was in Japan were horrible little chihuahuas and things. Blech.)

Thanks for this--I was going to ask, "What is that dog that isn't quite a jindo?" heh.

I was just getting ready to send you an email and ask if you were alive. You have been missed!

Very cute sort-of Yorkie and Shiba Inu!
Were they on-site dogs?

And you went to the Garden Museum? I still hope to get there one day but it didn't work out this month as we just traveled to the US and are feeling very un-travelly right now (except for local trips).

The first dog (Sancho) is a Norfolk terrier; there were two of them where I was working, but his mum was hiding when I came to take pictures. The shiba inu (Kaya) belongs to a friend.

The Garden Museum has been done over since I last visited, with what seems to be a big space for temporary exhibitions.

Can I have Dog number 1 please? I just can't resist its fuzzy little muzzle...

He's a sweetie, isn't he? He followed us around when we were working, either from affection or because he was keeping an eye on the spoons for his owners.

I quite like the idea of having a butler around to write my LJ posts. But I love that first dog. I want to scoop him up and scritch him behind the ears.
