Fun Days Out (and some not so fun)

Still feeling remarkably painful and non-bendy, especially in the hip region, so perhaps today wasn't the best time to go for the guided tour of the British Library conservation department, but I'd booked it last month for myself and three other people from my old conservation class, so I felt compelled to go. I so want to see the V&A Jewelry Gallery....maybe we can do that at our now annual outing next year.

How long will you be homebound after the operation?

That sounds like a good plan for next year!

I'm not sure how long I'll be stuck at home - I suppose I won't really know until after the op.

Would I be right in assuming you won't be up to traipsing about the Open Squares this weekend? As things have worked out, I'm only free on Sunday afternoon anyway, so it's not ideal.

Let's hope that this is your last week (barring the convalescence, of course) of pain and non-bendiness.

Yes, I think the Open Squares thing is out for this year; the only time I have to be anywhere else this weekend is Sunday afternoon. I do fancy the idea of a visit to the Kensington Roof garden some time. I can't make out from their very shiny website whether or not they are open to the public, but I suspect they are.

I believe it's effectively a private members' club and it's difficult (or extremely pricy) to go there other than on the open days. It's sometimes open at London Open House weekend, I believe, but I've been away that weekend for the last couple of years so haven't really looked.

Shame about this weekend but next year you'll be fit enough to really go for it, with any luck.
