Before I say anything else, can I just thank everyone for their good wishes about this operation - I really appreciate it! This morning was my pre-admission check at the hospital, and once more I had myself X-rayed, sampled and ECGd. All seemed to go pretty well, although the X-ray required me to flex my hip in a way that seems to have caused ( Read more... )

I've been a bit off kilter with LJ since we got to the US and the jet lag has been fogging my brain but I was SO pleased that they've called you so soon after you spoke with the doctor. My own hip has been acting up since we got here. Oh joy.

But you'll soon be all fixed and can come to visit in Spain!

No one from my generation in the family has gone yet but I can well imagine how sobering a thought it is.

Jet lag is horrible. Someone (can't remember who) said that it felt as if your body has travelled fast enough to outstrip your soul, which takes several days to catch up. It certainly feels like that! I do hope you get a chance to relax - you seem to take a lot on yourself.
