It's funny how, if I have my usual Sunday of rising late, reading newspapers and snarking at Gardener's Question Time and the Food Programme, the day seems to fritter itself away very quickly, while if I actually do anything it seems to last much longer. Yesterday, I was up reasonably early to make stew and sort box after box of fabric, then ( Read more... )

Today is the actual Guy Fawkes Day, isn't it?
Kenwood sounds lovely and tea in the garden in November! I guess global warming must have some advantages. I would be one of the dog lovers watching all the pretty pups. Cavalier King Charles spaniels are lovely and very sweet dogs.
Someday I'd love to visit Kenwood.

Rude Mushrooms? Now that's a picture I MUST see.

Yes, today is the actual day - the more traditionally-inclined locals have been out letting off bangers all this evening.

I've posted a picture of the mushrooms not.

What happened to the rude fungus? I intended to steal it from you to pass on to a few people with like minds (smutty).

Glad you liked the recipe. It's from a lovely little book called Food as Presents, by Patricial White, long out of print now, probably. Everything I've cooked from it workds - it doesn't seem to have a dud recipe, which is pretty good for any cookbook.

Thre are a couple more here, which is where I first saw it, and googling her name turned up lots more of a terrifying previous work of hers called Swarm that featured tiny skeleton faeries. I'm hoping to get more pictures when I go, but they are very small, so it may be difficult. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for her work in future, though.
