You want /how/ much for wi-fi?!

So! I am in England. We thought that wireless internet came as part of the package in the studio apartment we're staying in, but it turns out that they want us to pay for it. Quite a lot more than we're willing to pay, as well. We are extremely unimpressed about that, but at least there's a library a short walk away where we can be online for ( Read more... )

That's entirely normal, even in expensive hotels, I'm afraid. Wifi in the packae just means you can see the signal, it doesn't mean you can use it without paying.

Generally nobody bothers and just uses their phone's Internet connection instead.

The wi-fi thing is weird. Over here, you get free wi-fi in most cafes and even some pubs...so its odd.
